The newly formed BJP government in West Bengal, under Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, has launched a real-time tracker called 'BJP Sarkar Promises' to monitor its election commitments. Out of 140 promises made during the election campaign, 11 promises are currently listed as 'in progress.' These include initiatives aimed at ensuring national security through a crackdown on infiltration, providing ₹3,000 (roughly $36 USD) monthly financial support to women, and implementing a Uniform Civil Code. Other commitments involve restoring public trust in state institutions and completing stalled Kolkata Metro projects. Adhikari, who took office on May 9, has already held his first cabinet meeting, approving the transfer of land for border fencing and the immediate implementation of central schemes like Ayushman Bharat. The tracker also features a timer counting down the time left to fulfill the remaining 129 promises.
