India's electric two-wheeler market is on the brink of a significant transformation with several upcoming launches from major manufacturers such as Royal Enfield, Ather Energy, and Ultraviolette. Royal Enfield is set to introduce the Flying Flea S6, a scrambler-style electric motorcycle priced between ₹2 lakh and ₹3 lakh. This model will feature a mid-mounted electric motor, comparable performance to 125 cc or 150 cc petrol bikes, and advanced features like ride modes and traction control. Additionally, the Himalayan Electric aims to be one of India's first premium electric adventure motorcycles, targeting long-distance touring riders. Meanwhile, Ather Energy plans to launch larger, family-oriented scooters based on its new EL platform, moving beyond the sporty 450 range. Ultraviolette is also expanding its offerings with the Shockwave motorcycle and the Tesseract electric scooter, which boasts a claimed range of 261 km and advanced safety features. This shift highlights a growing demand for performance and technology-rich electric vehicles in India, a market that has traditionally focused on affordability and city commuting.
