Royal Enfield, a prominent motorcycle manufacturer in India, is set to establish a manufacturing unit and vendor park in Satyavedu, Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. The company will invest ₹2,200 crore (approximately $265 million USD) in two phases, significantly increasing its production capacity by 900,000 motorcycles annually, bringing its total capacity to 2.36 million units. This marks the first time Royal Enfield is expanding outside Tamil Nadu, where it has operated since 1955. The new facility is expected to create around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated approximately 276 acres for the project, which is expected to be completed in phases by 2029 and 2032. This development comes at a time when Andhra Pradesh is actively seeking to attract investments, following the successful relocation of other companies from Tamil Nadu. The project is seen as a significant boost for the state's automotive manufacturing ecosystem.
