Google has announced the expansion of its Gemini integration in the Chrome browser to seven new countries: Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. This update, available on desktop and iOS, aims to deepen the AI experience within Chrome. Notably, Japan currently has desktop support only. The Gemini integration introduces a sidebar assistant that can answer queries, summarise data, and help users manage multiple tabs effectively. Additionally, it includes creative tools that allow users to edit images found online. Since its initial launch in the United States in January, Gemini has gradually expanded to other regions, including India, Canada, and New Zealand. However, some advanced features, such as the agentic capability that allows Gemini to perform tasks on behalf of users, are still in testing and limited to subscribers of Google's AI Pro and AI Ultra plans in the US.
