On Wednesday afternoon, the Delhi High Court experienced a significant disruption when obscene content was repeatedly played during its video conferencing proceedings. Following a complaint from the court, the Delhi Police began an investigation to identify the perpetrator, suspected of hacking into the system. Cyber units from New Delhi and the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) are involved in the inquiry, focusing on the user's IP logs to trace their identity. Initial investigations indicate that the hacker's domain is linked to the United States, with audio claims made during the disruption stating it was a 'hack from the US.' The incident forced the court to shut down its video conferencing facility multiple times as the same user continued to share the inappropriate content. Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya has instructed the court's administrative arm to take necessary actions, while Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma noted that similar breaches may have occurred in other court sessions as well.
