The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a tender of ₹3.19 crore (approximately $384,000 USD) for hiring a detailed design consultant for the construction of the Central Vista depot, located near the Majlis Park metro station. This depot is a crucial component of the metro's phase-5 expansion, designed to facilitate train movement on the Magenta Line, including the upcoming Central Vista corridor. According to DMRC officials, the depot will be constructed at both grade and elevated levels, providing essential overnight stabling and maintenance for trains. The project is expected to be completed within 60 months from the date of the award. Additionally, the DMRC has recently issued a tender for geotechnical investigation work related to the extension of the Magenta Line, which aims to enhance east-west connectivity across central Delhi and alleviate congestion at the Rajiv Chowk interchange.
