Courtney Williams, a veteran of the US Army's Delta Force, has been arrested on federal charges for allegedly leaking classified military information to journalist Seth Harp. Harp, who is preparing a book titled The Fort Bragg Cartel: Drug Trafficking and Murder in the Special Forces, claims that Williams is being targeted for exposing sexual harassment and gender discrimination within the unit. According to the criminal complaint, Williams communicated with Harp over 10 hours and exchanged around 180 text messages from 2022 to 2024, discussing sensitive military tactics and procedures. The complaint indicates that Williams had saved documents intended for Harp, labeled with titles like “Batch 1 for Reporter.” Harp argues that while former Delta Force operators often share national defense information publicly, Williams' case is a clear act of retaliation for her whistleblowing. The investigation into Williams revealed that the information she shared was classified as SECRET and involved specific tactics used by the Special Military Unit (SMU).
