During a BJP meeting in Mylapore, Union Minister Piyush Goyal accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party and its leader, Chief Minister M K Stalin, of significant corruption affecting Tamil Nadu's economic development. He specifically pointed fingers at the Stalin family, including Udhayanidhi Stalin and Kanimozhi, claiming they are responsible for a decline in the state's governance. Goyal alleged that the DMK is working with actor-politician Vijay to manipulate election outcomes by splitting opposition votes. He emphasized that the BJP's recent white paper on Tamil Nadu's economy highlights the issues caused by the DMK government. Goyal also instructed BJP workers to ensure that votes against the DMK are consolidated in favor of the AIADMK and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates. He promised that an NDA government would implement a significant slum redevelopment program to improve housing conditions in Tamil Nadu.
