In Kukhudihi village, Birbhum district, West Bengal, a dispute over a graveyard escalated into violence when an earthmover accidentally disturbed a grave. This incident led to a confrontation between two local groups, resulting in miscreants hurling stones at police officers. Among the injured was Officer-in-Charge Shailendra Upadhyay. Police attempted to calm the situation and secure the release of the detained earthmover operator, but faced aggression from the crowd. Senior police officials, including Superintendent of Police Surya Pratap Yadav, arrived with reinforcements to restore order. A total of 14 individuals have been arrested, with ongoing efforts to apprehend all involved. The situation is currently under control, though police presence remains heightened as a precaution.
