On Saturday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the 'Jyoti–Savitri Zilla Parishad School' in Khanwadi, Purandar taluka, the birthplace of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, to kick off celebrations for Phule's bicentenary. Fadnavis stated that the 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, embodies Phule's vision for women's empowerment and education.
