What started as a sexual harassment complaint at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) office in Nashik, Maharashtra, has evolved into a complex investigation involving serious allegations of religious conversion and coercion. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is currently examining nine FIRs that document a range of abuses, including harassment, inappropriate physical contact, and attempts to force women into religious practices. The investigation has revealed that this pattern of abuse may have been part of a coordinated effort, potentially involving a WhatsApp group used by employees to target women.

Central agencies, including the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), have taken a keen interest in the case, looking into possible external funding and links to banned organizations. So far, seven individuals have been arrested, while one suspect remains absconding. The Maharashtra government has responded strongly, with State Minister Girish Mahajan describing the allegations as extremely serious. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and assured that strict action would be taken if the allegations are proven.

In response to the situation, TCS has reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy regarding harassment and has suspended employees implicated in the investigation. As the inquiry progresses, officials believe that the next few days will be critical for uncovering the full extent of the alleged network and its implications.
