Haryana's Health Minister Arti Singh Rao conducted a surprise inspection at the Post-graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak on Saturday, where she expressed significant dissatisfaction regarding the facility's operations. Patients reported issues with the registration process, as only one registration window was open, leading to long queues. Rao directed the authorities to ensure at least two windows are operational and emphasized that registration should not close before 2 pm. She also noted poor sanitation, with several washrooms closed, and insisted that cleanliness be prioritized. Additionally, Rao discovered that over 300 medicines sent by the state government were unavailable, raising concerns about the facility's ability to provide adequate care. A probe into the missing medicines will be initiated, and she instructed the PGIMS administration to ensure that patients receive medications from within the facility. On the issue of doctor shortages, she assured that the government is actively recruiting new medical staff to enhance healthcare services.
