Executive search firms report increased mandates from both tech companies and core sectors, including financial institutions, airlines, and consumer goods firms, seeking professionals to drive artificial intelligence (AI) adoption. Ratna Gupta, a senior partner at ABC Consultants, noted a 20% increase in hiring mandates for director-level positions and above over the past two to three quarters. Roles in demand include heads of global capability centers (GCCs), chief technology officers, and leaders in AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity. Compensation for these positions ranges from ₹1 crore to over ₹5 crore annually. The trend reflects a broader shift as companies in sectors like automotive and healthcare increasingly view tech leadership as critical to revenue and strategy. Over 6,500 global leadership roles are already based in India, with expectations for significant growth in the coming years.
