Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has called for the completion of all major projects announced in the Budget for 2026-27 by 2029. In a review meeting held at the Delhi Secretariat, she stressed the importance of efficient execution and visible outcomes to transform the city into a 'Viksit Delhi'. Gupta directed all department heads to establish clear goals and adhere to strict timelines, stating that the tendency to delay projects must end. She insisted that the entire project cycle—tendering, commencement, and completion—must follow a pre-defined, time-bound plan, with any bottlenecks escalated immediately for resolution. To facilitate real-time tracking, departments are required to upload detailed updates on the CM Pragati Portal regarding project progress and timelines. The CM also highlighted the necessity of stronger inter-departmental coordination to ensure that delays in one area do not impact others. Maximizing the utilization of funds and schemes from the central government, which are linked to performance, was also emphasized as a critical factor for success.
