Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the decision on a potential cabinet reshuffle is in the hands of the party high command. This statement comes as a delegation of senior Congress MLAs traveled to New Delhi to lobby for greater representation in the cabinet. The group aims to include at least 20 of the 40 senior legislators in the reshuffle discussions with All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge and other senior leaders. First-time MLAs are also advocating for at least five ministerial berths in any cabinet reorganization. Siddaramaiah pointed out that the delay in the reshuffle could be due to competing priorities, including elections in five states and the upcoming budget session.
