Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated that he anticipates Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will continue in his role for the entirety of the Legislative Assembly's term, which runs until 2028. During a press interaction in Mysuru on April 6, 2026, Parameshwara noted that the party's high command did not specify a term limit when Siddaramaiah was appointed in 2023, similar to his previous term from 2013 to 2018. He emphasized that any changes in leadership would be decided by the party high command and dismissed claims of confusion regarding the leadership issue. Parameshwara also addressed Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar's ambitions, stating that all MLAs, including himself, are eligible for the Chief Minister position. Furthermore, he expressed confidence in the Congress party's prospects in the upcoming bypolls for the Assembly seats in Bagalkot and Davangere South, citing the government's fulfillment of promises and development initiatives. Regarding the issue of black-marketing of LPG cylinders, he mentioned that police actions are based on complaints from the Food and Civil Supplies Department.
