Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has announced the receipt of a contract valued at ₹242.49 crore from South Central Railway for the upgradation of the overhead electrification (OHE) infrastructure in the Ongole-Gudur section of the Vijayawada Division, India. This project encompasses the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the upgraded system, transitioning from a 1x25 kV to a 2x25 kV alternating current feeding system. The scope of work includes 154 route kilometers (equivalent to 462 track kilometers) and is expected to be completed within 24 months. This contract is domestic and does not involve any related party transactions. RVNL is actively engaged in various railway infrastructure projects, including electrification and metro projects. In its recent financial results, RVNL reported a 3.65% increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹322.83 crore for Q3 FY26, compared to ₹311.44 crore in the same quarter last year. However, the company's stock fell by 0.67% to close at ₹260.85 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
