The Forum of Registered Teacher Organisations (FORTO) has made a formal request to the Andhra Pradesh government to create a statutory authority aimed at addressing the various financial and non-financial issues faced by government employees, teachers, and pensioners. The forum's leadership, including Chairman Karanam Harikrishna and Secretary General Ankala Kondayya, emphasized the need for a legally empowered system to ensure accountability and effective resolution of employee grievances. They proposed that this authority be led by the chief secretary, with a committee comprising three senior ministers, one retired High Court judge, and two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. The committee would meet monthly to review representations from employee groups, facilitating a quicker resolution of their concerns. FORTO highlighted that establishing such a mechanism would provide a structured platform for employees to voice their issues, thereby enhancing administrative trust and improving government-employee relations.
