Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed officials to finalize all preparations for the Singhast 2028, a major religious event in Ujjain, by Diwali 2027. During the fifth meeting of the ministerial committee, 22 projects were approved, amounting to ₹2,923.84 crore (approximately $350 million USD), aimed at enhancing infrastructure and administrative readiness. Key projects include road widening, new constructions, and upgrades to civic infrastructure to improve accessibility for the anticipated influx of pilgrims. Yadav insisted on quality control and adequate staffing, calling for immediate deployment and intensive training of personnel. A notable project is the establishment of an Integrated Command and Control Centre at a cost of ₹139.14 crore, which will utilize technology for real-time monitoring and crowd management. The infrastructure is designed for long-term use, ensuring that it benefits Ujjain beyond the Singhast event.
