Punjab is fully prepared for the upcoming special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with 74.27% of the state's 2,14,57,521 electors already mapped. Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra announced that the state is awaiting the official schedule from the Election Commission of India (ECI) to commence the SIR process. District-wise, Tarn Taran leads with a mapping percentage of 88.64%, followed by Moga and Muktsar. Once the SIR begins, booth level officers will conduct door-to-door enumeration, distributing forms to ensure comprehensive coverage. Political parties have appointed over 8,000 booth level agents to monitor the process and maintain transparency.
