Despite this significant revenue boost, Tamil Nadu's debt-to-Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) ratio stands at 26.4%, just below the Finance Commission's ceiling of 28.7%. The paper indicates that the state's outstanding debt is projected to rise from ₹8.34 lakh crore ($100 billion USD) by March 2024 to ₹10.71 lakh crore ($128 billion USD) by March 2027. Goyal urged voters to reject family rule in Tamil Nadu, contrasting the BJP's merit-based leadership with what he described as dynastic politics in the DMK.
