Ali Khezrian, an Iranian lawmaker and member of Iran’s National Security Commission, stated that Iran could 'seize and sell' ships in the Persian Gulf if the United States does not pay full war reparations. This declaration comes amid escalating tensions after the collapse of negotiations between the US and Iran in Pakistan. Khezrian emphasized that Iran would not permit what he termed 'enemy ships' to navigate through the Strait of Hormuz. He also claimed that, contrary to US assertions, no vessels from hostile nations have entered the Strait recently. He mentioned that the management of this critical waterway and the determination of ship tolls are under the jurisdiction of Iran's armed forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy, especially given the current wartime conditions and the lack of a finalized strategic plan in the Iranian parliament.
