The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has achieved a significant milestone by inaugurating partial stretches of metro lines 2B and 9, bringing its operational metro network to 101 km. This development positions MMR as the second-largest metro network in India, following the 416 km Delhi Metro. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed ambitions to expand the metro network to a fully integrated 337 km system. Additionally, a new pod taxi project was announced, which will feature an 8.85 km network with driverless pods capable of carrying six passengers.
