This accusation follows Khera's allegations that Sharma possesses three foreign passports from the UAE, Egypt, and Antigua and Barbuda, which could violate Indian laws on dual citizenship. Sarma responded by stating that Khera's claims are based on fraudulent documents and warned of severe legal consequences, including potential life imprisonment for election-related fraud. In a counterattack, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate accused Sarma of corruption and urged him to address the allegations instead of resorting to intimidation. Riniki Bhuyan Sharma refuted the allegations, asserting she does not hold multiple passports and dismissed claims of foreign property as false.
