The accused, Swati Singla from Kharar, Abhishek Singla from Sector 63, and Ankur from Nayagaon, were presented in court after their arrest. They are accused of siphoning off funds from various government departments in Haryana and Chandigarh through fraudulent transactions involving shell companies such as CAPCO Fintech Services and Swastik Desh Projects. The investigation was prompted by a complaint from the CEO of CREST regarding financial irregularities in the society's bank accounts at IDFC First Bank, Sector 32. An FIR has been registered at the Economic Offences Police Station, invoking multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including cheating and criminal conspiracy. The police allege that the accused caused wrongful loss to the departments for personal gain by transferring large sums into their accounts and those of their firms.
