A man identified as Rajendra Sonkar, aged 40, was arrested in connection with the murder of lawyer Rajiv Singh in Sadbhavnanagar, Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place on Saturday morning, prompting police to form five teams to locate the suspect. During an attempt to apprehend him, Sonkar fled and opened fire on the police. In response, the police shot him in both legs, and he is currently receiving treatment at a district hospital. Authorities recovered the motorcycle used in the crime, along with two country-made pistols and ammunition. A case has been registered against Sonkar under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Criminal Law Amendment Act.
