Uttar Pradesh is currently facing a heat wave as maximum temperatures approach 40°C due to dry weather conditions. On Sunday, Prayagraj recorded the highest temperature in the state at 39.8°C, while Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi reported 39.3°C. The temperatures have risen by an average of 7 to 9°C over the past four days. According to meteorological forecasts, a further increase of 3 to 5°C is expected, pushing temperatures above 40°C in various locations, including the state capital, Lucknow. Currently, Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 36.6°C and a minimum of 20°C. The weather is projected to remain dry, with strong surface winds expected to continue at speeds of 25 to 35 km/h. However, these winds are likely to subside after April 14.
