The Amarnath Yatra, a significant pilgrimage in India, will occur from July 3 to August 28, 2026, spanning 57 days. Registration for this revered journey will commence on April 15, 2026, allowing pilgrims to register online or at over 550 designated bank branches across the country, including major banks like State Bank of India and ICICI Bank. Given the challenging terrain, only individuals aged 13 to 70 are eligible, and pregnant women beyond six weeks will not be allowed to register. A Compulsory Health Certificate issued after April 8, 2026, is mandatory for all participants. Pilgrims can choose between two routes: the Pahalgam Route, which is longer but safer, and the Baltal Route, which is shorter but steeper. Enhancements in facilities, including better lighting and trekking paths, have been introduced, along with a ₹5 lakh accident insurance cover for registered pilgrims. The Shrine Board encourages early registration and proper medical check-ups to ensure a safe pilgrimage experience.
