This weekend marks the introduction of Public Announcement (PA) technology in two matches of the Brasileirão Série A, specifically Fluminense vs. Flamengo at Maracanã Stadium and Corinthians vs. Palmeiras at Neo Química Arena. This technology allows referees to communicate their decisions directly to fans in the stadium and viewers at home, enhancing transparency during matches. Rodrigo Cintra, president of the CBF Refereeing Committee, emphasized that this gradual implementation will eventually cover all ten matches in each round, aiming to clarify decisions made on the field. Additionally, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) will start releasing and monitoring Video Assistant Referee (VAR) footage, following international standards.
