India and Sri Lanka have taken a significant step towards strengthening their maritime cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Colombo Dockyard and the Dredging Corporation of India. The signing ceremony, attended by Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha, aims to enhance business volumes in the Indian maritime industry while allowing Colombo Dockyard to leverage its high skill set. This partnership is expected to foster mutual benefits for both nations. Furthermore, Sri Lanka has expressed appreciation for India's support in maintaining fuel supplies during a period of global uncertainty, emphasizing the importance of their bilateral relationship. Sri Lanka's Deputy Foreign Minister Arun Hemachandra noted that India's assistance came at a critical time when global supply chains are strained, reflecting the depth of ties between the two countries.
