On Friday morning, two homeless men were tragically crushed to death by debris that fell on them while they were sleeping on a footpath in Prashant Vihar, Rohini, New Delhi. The police reported that they were informed of the incident when two unconscious individuals were found lying in a pool of blood on land belonging to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) near the Green Aura Banquet Hall. The victims, aged between 35 and 50 years, were rushed to BSA Hospital, where they were declared dead upon arrival. An investigation revealed that a local parking vendor had called for an earthmover to clear construction debris, and during this process, heavy stones fell on the men, killing them instantly. The police have seized the JCB machine involved and arrested Rajgir Singh, the operator of the earthmover. They are currently examining who authorized the debris removal and whether adequate safety precautions were taken, especially since the area is known for people sleeping on the footpath. The police are also working to identify the deceased and inform their families, while further investigations continue.
