In Patiala, India, police arrested Gagandeep Singh for the alleged murder of his live-in partner, Kamalpreet Kaur, aged 28. The incident occurred on February 23, 2023, when Gagandeep reportedly shot Kamalpreet with his licensed pistol and later burned her body in his tile factory to eliminate evidence. The crime came to light in April following a complaint from Kamalpreet's brother, Jagsir Singh, who was informed by a relative about the murder. Investigations revealed that Gagandeep had misled Kamalpreet about his marital status, as he was already married. The breakthrough in the case occurred when Kamalpreet's cousin overheard Gagandeep confessing to the murder at a roadside eatery. Police have registered a case against Gagandeep under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and he is set to appear in court for further proceedings.
