Agra Police have escalated their investigation into a religious conversion syndicate by filing a fresh FIR against Dawood Ahmed, a resident of Bhopal currently based in Canada. The investigation began in July 2025 after two minor sisters went missing from the Sadar area of Agra. Upon their rescue from Kolkata, authorities uncovered a broader network involved in organized religious conversions. So far, more than 14 individuals have been arrested, including Abdul Rahman, the alleged mastermind operating from Delhi, and his associate Ayesha from Goa. The police revealed that the syndicate was reportedly receiving funds from abroad, specifically routed through countries like Canada and the United Arab Emirates. Dawood Ahmed is believed to have played a significant role in facilitating these financial transfers. Despite efforts to locate him in Bhopal, he has not been found. Following his failure to appear in court, authorities have initiated property attachment proceedings against him, and a new case has been registered under Section 209 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Ongoing efforts aim to dismantle the entire syndicate, with further arrests anticipated.
