Delhi Police have exposed a significant illegal operation in Dwarka, where expired food products, including biscuits and soft drinks, were repackaged with forged labels and sold to consumers. Acting on a tip-off received on March 29, police raided a godown in Bamnoli village, seizing 115 boxes of soft drink cans and branded biscuits with tampered packaging. Three individuals, including the firm’s owner Kamal Mudgil (56), were arrested. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has joined the investigation, collecting samples for testing to assess contamination risks. In a separate operation in Outer Delhi's Mahaveer Vihar, police uncovered a counterfeit toothpaste manufacturing unit, arresting six individuals involved in producing substandard products. These incidents have raised serious public health concerns, prompting authorities to urge consumers to remain vigilant and report suspicious goods.
