In a significant police operation in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, three members of an inter-state cattle theft gang were injured during an encounter with law enforcement. The incident occurred after police received a tip-off regarding the gang's planned activities near Devi Atas village. Upon spotting a suspicious vehicle, police initiated vehicle checks, leading to the suspects attempting to flee. When confronted, the suspects allegedly opened fire, prompting police to retaliate, resulting in injuries to three gang members. Following the encounter, police arrested three additional suspects during a combing operation, while one managed to escape. Authorities recovered over ₹1.04 lakh in cash, illegal firearms, and a motorcycle used in the gang's activities. The injured suspects were admitted to the Joint District Hospital in Vrindavan, while the arrested individuals face multiple charges related to cattle theft across various police stations in Mathura, including Shergarh and Raya. The gang leader, Sagar, is also wanted in Rajasthan and Hathras for similar crimes.
