IIT Roorkee, the organizing institute for JEE (Advanced) 2026, has announced that candidates who do not meet the minimum Class 12 marks requirement can still participate in the counselling process. Specifically, students from the General, OBC-NCL, and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories with less than 75% marks in Class 12, and SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates with less than 65% marks, are eligible to fill in their choices. However, these candidates must submit a revised scorecard by July 15, 2026, to confirm their eligibility for admission. The decision aims to assist students who are awaiting results from improvement examinations or corrections due to errors in the online marking system. This move comes in response to concerns raised by candidates and parents regarding the impact of pending verification and re-evaluation requests on eligibility. Additionally, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for post-result services to June 7, following technical issues that delayed the original schedule. As of June 4, CBSE reported receiving 70,433 applications for grievance redressal, including 7,314 requests for verification and 63,119 for re-evaluation.
