These discussions allegedly focused on appointing an attractive female ambassador to the United States to appeal to then-President Donald Trump. The claims surfaced after Russian outlet RT referenced the so-called 'Mindich tapes,' linked to businessman Tymur Mindich, who is associated with Zelenskyy's inner circle. Among the discussed candidates was Svitlana Hrynchuk, a former Ukrainian Energy Minister, noted for her red hair and curly style, which was suggested to keep Trump engaged. However, these claims remain unverified and have been met with skepticism. Hrynchuk has a strong academic background and was involved in Ukraine's energy policies during the ongoing war, but resigned amid a corruption investigation in November 2025. The current ambassador to the U.S. is Olha Stefanishyna, and there is no evidence that the Ukrainian government formally pursued the alleged appointment strategy.
