The sacred Piprahwa relics of Lord Buddha arrived in Leh, Ladakh, on Wednesday, marking the start of a significant spiritual celebration. Ladakh's Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena welcomed the relics at Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, where they received a guard of honour and special prayers from monks. The relics will be securely held until they are publicly displayed on May 1, 2024, during Buddha Purnima, which marks the 2569th anniversary of the event. Following their arrival, a grand procession took the relics to Jivetsal, the venue for the exposition.
