Anil Kapoor has delighted fans by revealing that his iconic character Majnu Bhai from the 2007 comedy film Welcome was inspired by his earlier role as Azaad in the 1990 film Awaargi. In a recent post on X, Kapoor stated, “Awaargi may not have been the most noticeable film I’ve done, but this character never left me. He returned years later as the inspiration behind Majnu Bhai, only with a lighter twist.” The character of Majnu Bhai became a cultural favorite, known for his eccentric behavior, artistic pursuits, and unforgettable dialogues. Following the success of Welcome, which also starred Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, fans are eagerly anticipating the fourth installment of the franchise, tentatively titled Welcome 4. Reports indicate that the script is in advanced stages, with Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Nana Patekar set to reprise their roles. The new film aims to weave these beloved characters into a completely different storyline, promising fresh entertainment for audiences.
