Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, has sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for its handling of the economy, particularly in light of recent increases in petrol and diesel prices. During a meeting at the party's state headquarters, Yadav stated that the country is in a crisis due to the BJP's failed policies, which have led to rampant inflation. He advocated for the implementation of Ram Manohar Lohia's 'Daam Bandho Niti' (Price Control Policy) to stabilize prices and curb inflation. Yadav highlighted the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections as a crucial test for democracy, asserting that Uttar Pradesh plays a pivotal role in this mission. He claimed that the BJP has not delivered any significant development in the state over the last nine years and labeled the party as a 'gang' rather than a legitimate political entity. Yadav expressed confidence that the PDA coalition, which includes backward classes, Dalits, and minorities, will provide a formidable alternative to the BJP, predicting their defeat in the upcoming elections. He urged party members to conduct themselves respectfully and remain alert to the BJP's efforts to undermine the Samajwadi Party.
