Microsoft has announced a significant leadership change at LinkedIn, appointing Dan Shapero as the new CEO, effective immediately. Shapero, who has been with LinkedIn since 2008 and served as Chief Operating Officer for five years, takes over from Ryan Roslansky, who has been promoted to Executive Vice President at Microsoft. Under Roslansky's leadership, LinkedIn experienced remarkable growth, with its membership nearly doubling from 700 million to 1.3 billion. Shapero's focus will be on leveraging artificial intelligence to help professionals navigate the evolving job market. Additionally, Mohak Shroff, LinkedIn’s engineering lead, will transition to Microsoft as President of Platform and Digital Work, while Erran Berger and Raghu Hiremagalur will co-lead LinkedIn’s engineering department.
