On April 16, 2023, a man named Benny, aged 51, tragically died after collapsing while cleaning a deep well at a resort in Sengulam, Kunchithanny, Idukki district, Kerala. The incident occurred around 9 am when Benny experienced breathing difficulties shortly after entering the well. Despite the quick response from Fire and Rescue Services, who utilized oxygen support to retrieve him, he was pronounced dead at a government hospital in Adimaly at approximately 11:25 am. Authorities suspect that low oxygen levels inside the well contributed to his condition. The Vellathooval police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation into the incident. Benny's body was handed over to his relatives following a postmortem examination.
