The Indian National Congress, under the leadership of general secretary Bhupesh Baghel, has announced a plan to hold three-day yatras in all 117 assembly constituencies of Punjab as part of its outreach program ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. This initiative aims to connect with local citizens, understand their issues, and mobilize support at the grassroots level. Baghel emphasized the need to address the 'sorry state of affairs' in Punjab, citing concerns over widespread corruption, deteriorating law and order, and increasing insecurity among the populace. The Congress party plans to release a 'chargesheet' against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government before launching the yatras. Additionally, Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring criticized both the BJP and AAP for allegedly manipulating investigation agencies to target political opponents, asserting that the people of Punjab would not be swayed by such tactics. Warring expressed confidence that Congress workers are ready for the upcoming electoral battle, undeterred by pressures from the Enforcement Directorate or the Punjab Vigilance Bureau.
