During a recent State Executive Committee meeting, members of the Andhra Pradesh Revenue Services Association (APRSA) raised significant concerns regarding the simultaneous implementation of three major initiatives: the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, re-survey operations, and the distribution of pattadar passbooks. The association, led by State president Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, urged the government to ensure proper planning to avoid overlapping activities that could overwhelm field staff. They stressed the necessity for increased budget allocations to meet current operational costs, particularly for office supplies, vehicle rentals, and maintenance. Additionally, they requested specific budget provisions for court-related expenses, especially in contempt cases involving revenue officials. To enhance professional competence, the APRSA proposed the establishment of a dedicated Revenue Academy for ongoing training in revenue laws, land administration, and digital governance. Venkateswarlu highlighted that improving the Revenue Department requires more than just meetings; it necessitates adequate staffing, infrastructure, and continuous training to deliver better services to citizens. He also pointed out the urgent need for repairs and construction of several Tahsildar and RDO offices across Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing the critical role of the Revenue Department in governance and public service delivery.
