India's petroleum ministry has announced that there are no plans to financially support state-run fuel retailers, who are currently facing losses from selling transport fuels below market prices. Despite this, companies like Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation have raised prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for industrial customers and jet fuel sold to foreign airlines. However, retail prices for gasoline, gasoil, LPG, and jet fuel for Indian carriers remain unchanged. According to the ministry, bulk customers, who account for approximately 10% of overall diesel sales, have seen a price increase in diesel. The government emphasizes that its primary focus is on protecting retail customers from price hikes.
