On Wednesday, Delhi High Court judge Tejas Karia recused himself from hearing a contempt petition against Arvind Kejriwal (chief of the Aam Aadmi Party) and other leaders for allegedly publishing videos of court proceedings related to the excise policy case. The petition, filed by advocate Vaibhav Singh, seeks action against Kejriwal and others, including Congress leader Digvijay Singh and journalist Ravish Kumar, for violating rules regarding the recording and publication of court proceedings. The court directed that the matter be taken up by a different bench. This development follows the Delhi High Court's previous order for the Delhi Police to remove the same videos from social media platforms. The ongoing legal battles stem from a trial court's earlier decision to discharge Kejriwal and others, which has been challenged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
