In the 2021 elections, these parties split the seats, with BJP winning seven, Congress five, and AIMIM four. This year, the dynamics are shifting, particularly in Jamalpur ward, where 19 candidates are contesting, including former AIMIM councillors now running as independents. The ward has a significant Muslim voter base and is viewed as a battleground between Congress and AIMIM. In Shahpur ward, which has 67,441 voters, the contest is influenced by various communities, while Dariapur features the highest number of candidates at 23.
