Following a directive from Congress leadership, party workers in Kerala have started removing campaign posters supporting various candidates for the Chief Minister position. This decision was made after a three-hour meeting in Delhi involving Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi. The leaders, including key contenders V D Satheesan, K C Venugopal, and Ramesh Chennithala, urged party workers to cease their campaigns ahead of the 2026 Kerala Assembly Elections. In response, Congress workers acted swiftly, dismantling banners and posters in several locations, including the party's headquarters, Indira Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) had shown strong disapproval of the ongoing demonstrations and campaigns, which had been particularly vocal among supporters of Satheesan and Venugopal. Some workers even staged symbolic protests, such as rolling on the floor in Iritty, Kannur, to advocate for Satheesan's candidacy. Additionally, supporters were reportedly sending emails to AICC leaders, including Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi, expressing their preferences for the CM post.
