In recent developments, India has successfully repatriated nearly 1,800 Indian nationals from Iran, utilizing Armenia and Azerbaijan as crucial transit hubs amid the ongoing conflict. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reported that Azerbaijan played a significant role by facilitating the evacuation of 32 staff members and their families from the Indian embassy in Tehran. This cooperation underscores a strengthening relationship between India and Azerbaijan, marked by recent dialogues aimed at enhancing bilateral ties. A delegation led by Sibi George, Secretary (West) of India's Foreign Ministry, met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku to discuss various aspects of their relationship, including economic and trade cooperation, energy, tourism, and education. The discussions also highlighted the need to address disagreements, particularly concerning cross-border terrorism, emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue.
