Western Connecticut State University (WestConn) will celebrate its 2026 commencement ceremonies with over 900 students graduating. The undergraduate ceremony is set for May 18 at 3 p.m. at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, where approximately 710 students will receive their degrees. The graduate ceremony will follow on May 19 at 5 p.m. at Ives Concert Hall on the university’s Midtown campus in Danbury, awarding 191 master's and 10 doctoral degrees. Anna Rathmann, executive director of the Jane Goodall Institute USA, will serve as the speaker for both events. The university will honor Richard Asselta with the President’s Award for his community involvement and will confer an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree on attorney Robert J. Yamin for his legal contributions and support of the university. Tickets are required for attendance, and both ceremonies will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
